OXBEAK LTD is the controller of the personal information used to run Ascent. This notice explains how we use information when you browse, contact us, join our mailing list or place an order.
Information and purposes
- Orders and support: name, contact details, billing and delivery address, ordered products, payment status and correspondence, to fulfil your order and provide support. Our legal basis is performance of a contract or steps you request before a contract.
- Accounts and records: account details and transaction records, to operate your account, manage payments and meet tax, accounting and consumer-law duties. We rely on contract and legal obligations as applicable.
- Security: device, IP, transaction and activity information, to protect the store, prevent fraud and resolve disputes. We rely on legitimate interests in a secure business, balanced against your rights, and legal obligations where applicable.
- Marketing: your email address, choices and interactions, to send updates you have chosen to receive. We use consent, or a permitted existing-customer marketing basis where its conditions are met. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Website measurement: device and browsing activity, to understand how the store is used. Non-essential analytics or marketing tracking is subject to consent where required.
Who receives information
Shopify hosts our store and supports checkout. Payment providers process payment details. DSers and our fulfilment suppliers receive the order and delivery information needed to arrange dispatch; suppliers and carriers may be outside the UK. Our email provider handles correspondence. Where enabled, Klaviyo supports email marketing and Microsoft Clarity supports website analytics. Professional advisers and public authorities may receive information where necessary for legal or business obligations. We do not sell customer contact lists.
International processing
Shopify, fulfilment partners and other providers may process information in countries outside the UK, including where a supplier ships your order. UK data-transfer rules apply. Depending on the recipient, the applicable mechanism may be a UK adequacy decision or contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum. Contact us for details of the recipients, countries and safeguards relevant to your information.
Cookies and choices
Essential cookies support functions such as the basket, checkout and security. Where consent is required, optional analytics and marketing cookies should only operate after your choice. Use the store’s cookie controls, where displayed, to change that choice; you can also manage cookies in your browser. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential order or support messages.
How long we keep information
We retain information only for as long as needed for its purpose. Order and financial records are retained for applicable accounting, tax and legal-claim periods. Support records are kept while a matter is open and for an appropriate period to handle follow-up issues or claims. Marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe or it is no longer needed; a minimal suppression record may be retained to respect your opt-out. The criteria include legal retention duties, unresolved disputes, security needs and the sensitivity of the information.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can object to direct marketing at any time and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email ascentrecovery@outlook.com. We may need to verify your identity and will explain any lawful limit on a request.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We welcome the opportunity to address your concern first.
Providing information and automated checks
We need contact, delivery and payment information to complete an order. Without it we may be unable to supply goods. Payment and fraud systems may flag transactions for review; contact us if you want to question an order decision. We do not intend to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the store and its services change. The date above identifies the latest version.
