A lukewarm tea break is disappointing when everyone has been looking forward to it. Before replacing the flask, check how it is being filled, carried and opened during your usual outing.
Try a like-for-like check at home
Follow the manufacturer's filling and care instructions, then compare the same drink over the length of a normal walk. Note the starting temperature, fill level and number of times the lid is opened. Inspect the lid and seal for obvious damage or residue.
A family sharing one flask may open it several times. That is a different pattern from one person pouring once at the end of a short route. Choose capacity and serving arrangements around the real outing rather than an unverified promise of hot drinks for a fixed number of hours.
Keep hot pouring with an adult, allow children's drinks to cool and carry suitable drinking water separately where needed.
