An eight-piece cookware set is not eight pans, and it is not automatically a complete kitchen for a family of four. Read the contents before deciding whether it makes a useful Christmas gift.
Count what each person needs
Ascent's stainless steel set contains two pots, one frying pan, two cups and three plates. For a family of four, that means the set alone leaves you short of cups and plates. Count utensils, serving equipment and washing-up supplies separately.
Ask what the recipient already owns. If their pans are working well but their drinkware never packs neatly, another full cookware set may solve the wrong problem. A smaller, well-chosen present can be more useful.
The set's listed weight is about 785 g. Check how it fits into their existing kitchen box, and remember that stove, fuel and food are not included.
